Will scuba diving affect a compressed meniscus in a knee? ?

Is there a possibility it will be good therapy for the knee?

This is something you’ll have to discuss with a Doc that’s a dive specialist and is familiar with your particular case. Personally, I don’t think it’s a good idea unless you’ve been medically cleared. We’re talking about a joint injury that involves swelling and reduced blood flow in the area of the injury. Never a good thing when it comes to absorbing nitrogen under pressure. It could make you more prone to a decompression hit in particular an embolism. Not to mention the extra strain you’re putting on that cartilage with the gear you’re lugging to the water and the fact that you won’t have your mind focussed on the dive but rather the discomfort you may be feeling.
Why not swim laps in a pool instead if that helps? Same motions, less risk.
