  1. Doug says:

The primary reason is that it is very difficult to move around on the inflatable when in scuba gear. Typically, the diver will put all of the gear on while on a bigger boat or shore except for the fins. The will then board the inflatable, and usually sit on the side of it. Upon reaching the dive site, the diver will put his/her fins on and just roll backwards into the water. The weight of the tank will make sure it hits the water first (you won’t over rotate), and since the tank is metal, it will “break” the water for your making the entry easier.
Trying to stand on an inflatable to do any other kind of entry is just asking for problems.

To stop their goggles from coming off,If they jumped in feet first the flippers would break their ankles.

stop the goggles from falling off,and the air tank strangling you.
    oh and it’s fun!

  5. Bonkers! says:

if they go in frontways by jumping the tank on their back would bash into the side of the boat. it also is good because if you jump you would go down too far and when you get in the water at first you just need to get adjsuted and stay at the surface. you dont want things to fall off of you.

i guess.. if they dive forward like a pool diver, their equiptment would get damaged or unclipped..
they dive backwards for saftey of their equiptment!
    =]

Have you ever felt the weight of the SCUBA….
It’s so the equipment splits the surface of the water before the goggles do.

To keep the regulator from hitting their head

  9. Doctor Foo says:

tank will hit head when the tank hits the water
