What Is The Best Place/ Location To Learn Scuba Diving In The Philippines?

I am planning to learn scuba diving in the Philippines but I like the place to be low-priced but has a lot to offer terms of the beauty of the dive sites. If you can give an estimate how much I would spend for a period of time for diving and accomodations, that will be very much appreciated. Thanks!

If you like the idea of wreck diving rather than reef, i can recommend Subic bay.
$40 a night at Boardwalk Hotel, and $360 for 4 dives, full 1:1 instruction, equipment hire etc with Butch at the Scuba Shack just opposite the hotel.
If you go, tell him that Keith recommended him and Michelle sends her regards.

Puerto Galera has without a doubt the most quality dive sites in the same location in the Philippines. You can find rooms from about $US15 & up, and you will pay between $US 20 – 25 per dive. The prices for courses vary.

I am an avid scuba diver..
Go to Dive and Trek in Bauan, Batangas..it can be accessed through Anilao too. It has cheap accommodation prices compared to other dive resorts in Anilao. And it offers pretty good dive sites—colorful corals and caves.
You may contact them at (02) 8518746 for details on accommodations. If you are looking for a dive instructor, drop me an email so I can refer you to him. Not so sure the rates now.

I enrolled in scuba diving lessons earlier this year…entire course 18k, inclusive of ‘check-out’ dive and accomodations. If you’re just starting, start with easy dives…and Anilao Batangas is the best place to start. Btw, a complete beginner’s course will take a week or so, and is a bit more expensive if its 1 on 1, as opposed to having more students in a class. Good luck.
