Scuba Diving effects on the menstrual cycle?

I’ve tried to do research on this topic as I am a female certified advanced open water diver and it has bothered me a few times. At least three times now, after having done a two-tank dive on two consecutive days, my period came early (like two weeks too early).
This is very unusual for me as normally my cycle is almost freakishly regular.

I would like to ask you other female divers out there, whether you have ever experienced the same thing? Does anyone know why exactly this might happen? Any information about it would be useful.
Thank you.

hey diviing is not related to the menstrual cycle and when you are diving the blood doesnt fall because the pressure or the coldness of the water but then immediatly when you finish diving the blood will fall again once you left the water
when the cycle comes earliar two weeks it is something else not related to diving

Interestingly enough I just bought a magazine (in South Africa) about this very topic.

To sum it all up the only thing that may be affected by your cycle is that you are less able to get rid of dissolved nitrogen due to fluid retention and tissue swelling when on your cycle this is turn causing DCI. However, this is not definitely proven.

On a more personal experience, I too am very regular and have experienced my cycle move by some days due to stress. As your cycle is super sensitive, a slight amount of stress can have this effect. Also a change in oral contraceptives.

Yet, I think in your case there would be no harm in having yourself checked out by your doc, just to make sure.
