Recommendation for a dive light?
I was hoping to get a little advice for a Christmas
gift for my Uncle. He wants a good dive light for night underwater
photography, something that won’t require extremely heavy batteries in
luggage. I don’t know what’s good and what’s not and my price range is
350 – 600 USD

Dive light as in external strobe for a camera or dive light as in a hand held dive light? The way you worded this, it could be either.
For a strobe, check out http://www.ikelite.com/ .They also manufacture hand helds. Usually this would be a special order from a dive shop.
For a cheaper but also a good brand of hand held light, try Underwater Kinetics. http://www.uwkinetics.com/ . Most dive shops keep this manufacturer’s models in stock since they’re popular and relatively inexpensive.
