Portroe quarry 2009 ireland (scuba diving )
Around 3 km south form Portroe there is a old slate quarry. Exploration and mining in the quarry has been finished since around 1950. After all equipment and machines had been removed, the pumps were turned off, water quickly rose giving us one of the best diving spots in Irish midlands. the whole quarry is on private property.entering the quarry is illegal and the owners may ask you to leave.(upd…
