How much beer can i drink the night before scuba diving?

i went 2 years ago and drunk a fair bit every night and nothing happened to me. but i heard that it could be harmfull? cant i just sleep it off and drink water?
Don’t say “don’t drink anything”

  1. I had about 8 drinks but it was about 6 to 8 hours before I went Scuba Diving.

  2. Enough that (a) you’ll be under the drink-driving limit(35mg alcohol per 100ml blood) when you hit the water (b)you’re not dehydrated and (c)you don’t feel like sh!t. To give an exact answer on “how many” is impossible since we all process alcohol at different rates.

    I can vaguely remember reading somewhere you’re actually safer drinking a pint of beer(4-5%abv) during a surface interval than a pint of Coke because of the diuretic effect from the caffeine. Obviously a pint of water is a much better idea though!
