Can you wear glass earrings while scuba diving?

I have two glass rod gauge 12 lobe earrings that I wear 24/7. I got them peirced in ~ June 2010. Is it safe to wear them scuba diving? Or would it be better to take them out? If I take them out for a day, will they close up?

The last earring I wore was a ring. Lost it on a dive and never bothered to replace it. I think that may answer part of your question and you won’t need to worry about it closing up on you for the short time it’ll be out on a dive.

You can wear them, but if they are shiny and a barracuda sees them it will bite your ear off. If you decide to take them out you probably won’t be in the water more than an hour.
