Can the Canon IXUS 95 IS be used for underwater photography?

It has a mode called “underwater”, but I seriously don’t want to try anything unless I get it verified. BTW This camera is amazing and if you need a new one, get this one.

    If you are interested in underwater photography you may be interested to know there is a waterproof case available (WP-DC14). This is waterproof to a depth of 40m but we have only tested in the fish tank by my youngest daughter :)

    The Underwater mode sets the camera to the best settings when using underwater housings, like this…

    The camera itself is not waterproof.
